Despite not out maiden century from Virat Kohli of Royal Challengers Banglore (RCB), RCB lost their march against Gujrat Lions at Rajkot yesterday. It was the fifth match for both of them. RCB won the toss and elected to bat first. It was the first time in this season of IPL that a toss winning team elected to bat first.
For RCB it became a challenge when its main batsmen Shane Watson and AB de Villers got out at a cheap score. AB and Kohil had a partnership of 51 runs. It was their fifth 50+ partnership in a row this season. After AB got out Kohli stood up with KL Rahul for a 100+ partnership till the last ball of the inning.Kohli completed his century after hitting four at the last ball of the inning bowled by DJ Bravo.
Finally with the help of century from Kohli and half ton from KL Rahul RCB set a target of 181 runs for LIONS. For Gujrat DR Smith, BB Mc Cullum, Suresh Raina, D Karthik, R Jadeja and DJ Bravo scored 32(21), 42(24), 28(24), 50(39),12(10) and 4(1) and lead LIONS to a victory of 6 wickets. Despite the loss VIRAT KOHLI was awarded man of the match for his wonderful century .
